Gunner was dropped off at my track to learn how to ride a dirtbike during a time I think the Man above timed. I was fairly fresh off a career ending traumatic spinal cord injury, Gunner was my little Angel and I was his friend and coach. He and his parents made the drive over from Boykin, Georgia (Colquitt) every Tuesday, Thursday, and sometimes Sunday. I would work with Gunner and listen to him laugh when I said he needed to lose a few pounds, watch him smile when I told him he was a good 'ole rider, and just soak in the positive energy from the kid and his parents as they were so new to the sport but so willing to learn and make me proud. I know it is safe to say he made every one he came across proud proud to have met such a happy, cheerful, and positive kid. He and his parents took me back to the roots of motocross - the fun and the excitement to learn something new.
